Kenyii cichlid fish

Postby indraneil2509 on Tue Jan 05, 2010 8:24 am

I have been searching the net for info on the Kenyii cichlid fish. I have 4 of them in my tank (70 gallon tank). How do I ascertain which ones are males and females? Is it possible to breed them in captivity ?

Are there any distinct differences between an male and a female ?

This is a marine forum, so you may get more input from our sister site, The Oscar Spot, http://www.theoscarspot.com

Kenyi are a bit different from other mbuna in that the males are yellow and the females blue. They're a bit more mild than some, more aggressive than others. I would not keep more than one male unless the tank is a large one (6'). Yes, they can be bred.
